Privacy policy
Tended is an assumed name of Alex Sears, CPA, LLC, Katy, Texas ("Tended", "we", "us"). This policy covers tendedyards.com, our sign-up forms, your account page and our lawn, bed, plant and holiday services. Questions go to [email protected].
What we collect
- What you tell us: your name, mobile number, email, service address and ZIP code, the plan and options you pick, and any notes.
- Photos you upload, such as a picture of a problem in your lawn or the spot for a new plant.
- Lot and lawn size. We look up your lot in the Fort Bend and Harris County appraisal district public records and estimate the grass area from it.
- Visit records: photos we take of your yard at each visit, what we did, and a green score worked out from those photos.
- How you found us: the ad and link tags in the web address you arrived on (such as utm_source, gclid, fbclid or a neighbor's referral code), the first page you landed on and the site that sent you. Your browser keeps these in its local storage so they can go with your request.
- Text consent records: if you check the text box, the time, the device's IP address and the exact wording you agreed to.
- Payment details are entered on Stripe's checkout page. Card numbers go to Stripe and never touch our servers. We keep only a Stripe customer reference and what we have charged.
Why we use it
- To measure your lawn, price it and answer your request.
- To schedule visits, do the work, and send your visit reports.
- To bill you for the services you sign up for.
- To contact you by phone or email about your service, and by text if you agreed to texts.
- To see which ads, flyers and links bring us customers, so we spend less on the ones that don't.
- To keep the records that tax and accounting law require.
Who processes it for us
These companies handle data on our behalf to run the service. They don't get it for their own marketing.
- Stripe processes payments and stores your card.
- Resend sends our emails, such as your account link and visit reports.
- Google Maps powers the 3D view and address lookup on our measure page. The address you type there is sent to Google.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and protects it from abuse, and counts page visits without advertising cookies.
- Public map sources. The measure page asks the Fort Bend and Harris County appraisal district map services and OpenStreetMap for the lot and house outline at the point you looked up.
We don't run Google or Meta advertising tags on the site today. If we turn them on, we will update this page first.
Text messages
- Texts are optional. You only get them if you check the text box on a form. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and we'll call or email instead if you don't check it.
- We text about scheduling, visit reports and offers from Tended. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any text to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or email [email protected].
- We don't sell or share your phone number or your text opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
We don't sell your data
We don't sell personal data, and we don't share it for targeted advertising by others. We share it only with the processors above, when the law requires it, or if the business is sold, in which case this policy goes with it.
How long we keep it
- Customer records, visit photos and reports: while you're a customer, and for a reasonable time afterward in case you come back or have a question about past work.
- Billing and tax records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to seven years.
- Requests that don't become customers: only as long as we need them to follow up, then we delete them.
- Text consent records: as long as we might need to show that you agreed.
Your choices
- See, fix or delete your data: email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, or tell us the phone number you used. We'll reply within 45 days, and usually much sooner. We may keep records the law requires us to keep.
- Stop texts: reply STOP at any time.
- Stop emails: reply to any offer email, or email us, and we'll stop sending offers.
Security
We use encrypted connections, keep your account page behind a private link, and limit who on our team can see customer records. No system is perfect, so please tell us right away if you think something is wrong.
Children
Our services are for adults who own or manage a home. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change matters to how we use your data, we'll tell customers by email before it takes effect.
