Cinco Ranch · Katy, Texas

Lawn care in Cinco Ranch.

Most Cinco Ranch homes were built by 2005, so the trees have grown up and the sprinklers have some years on them. That changes what a St. Augustine lawn needs.

What it means

Grown trees, shade and older systems.

Shade under grown trees

St. Augustine takes more shade than most warm-season grasses, but it thins out in heavy shade. On the first visit we mark which parts of your lawn are in shade, and if a spot won't hold grass we'll say so, so you can decide whether a bed would do better there.

Root rot in older lawns

Take-all root rot shows up as yellow, thinning patches with short, dark roots, often in shade or where water sits. We check the roots before blaming feeding or water. Peat moss topdressing is the usual fix, $199 as a one-time add-on.

Sprinklers with some years on them

Over time heads sink, tilt or get covered by grass, and coverage gets patchy. The April visit includes a sprinkler check, and we set run times each season. A full sprinkler check is $79 on its own.

Pricing

Priced by the square foot of grass.

We measure your grass from county lot lines and a map of your yard. The house, driveway, patio and beds come out, so your lawn is smaller than your lot. On a Cinco Ranch lot near the 8,700 ft² median, the grass usually measures well under the lot. Your price comes from your own measurement.

Most Katy homeowner associations ask for lawns that are mowed, edged and free of obvious weeds and bare spots. Your own association's deed restrictions say exactly what it expects, so check them. A photo report after every visit gives you a dated record of what was done if a notice ever arrives.
