Elyson is one of Katy's newer communities, so most lawns there began as builder sod not long ago. New sod on new ground, with young trees and full sun, needs different help than an older lawn.

New-home sod is often laid on packed subsoil with little topsoil, so roots stay shallow and seams and low spots show for a few years. We check soil and roots on the first visit. Feeding on schedule helps the sod knit, and core aeration, $129, loosens packed ground.
Young trees mean little shade yet. Chinch bugs go for the hottest, sunniest grass, usually along the driveway and sidewalk. On the plan, the June and August visits check for them and treat them if we find them.
New systems are often left on the settings they were installed with. The April visit checks the sprinklers, and we set run times each season so the lawn gets deep, less frequent watering.
We measure your grass from county lot lines and a map of your yard. The house, driveway, patio and beds come out, so your lawn is smaller than your lot. On smaller lots, once the house, driveway and beds come out, the grass can measure under 5,000 ft², which is the $59 band. Your price comes from your own measurement.
The first visit is $29, then the monthly price above. Prices are plus Texas sales tax. Lawns over 12,000 ft² get a quote before you pay anything.
Neighbor pricing. When you and at least two neighbors within 1,000 feet of your home are customers, each plan drops $10 a month. Any street counts, and it's applied automatically.
Most Katy homeowner associations ask for lawns that are mowed, edged and free of obvious weeds and bare spots. Your own association's deed restrictions say exactly what it expects, so check them. A photo report after every visit gives you a dated record of what was done if a notice ever arrives.
